Two points for whoever guesses where I took the subject line from. ;)

Anyway, I just realized it's been over a month, since I updated. That kind of sucks. There really isn't much new, unless you all want to hear countless stories about DD. I didn't think so.

Last time I posted I was complaining about a pair of socks I was trying to finish. Well, I just finished them this morning. Yes, it took me that long to do. They were horrible, There is a picture of them of Ravelry, but I will not waste the effort to post one up here.

XOXO

Happy Friday Morning.

Not much going on here, it's been a rather slow few weeks (trust me this is a good thing). Right now, DD and I are sitting in the living room, she's sipping a cup of milk and we have Sesame Street on. I think that I'm watching more of it then she is. LOL. In case you are wondering Sesame Street is brought to you today by the letter J and the number 16.

I have a question for all my knitting friends. Where do DPN's go?

I have a sock delusion. My delusion: some day I will be one of these people that will churn out socks at an astounding pace. In reality, I have knit a total of 3 socks (that's whole socks, not counting ones I've casted on for and not finished.) Now, we all know that I am a procrastinator and I suffer from chronic startitis. I have, among other things, a sock currently on the needles. It's mate is finished, it's sitting in my sock draw alone. That first sock was knit in less then two weeks. This second sock I have been working on much longer then that. Part of it is boredom after the first sock and part is my hatred for the yarn I'm using. But the last part, I keep losing my DPN's. It seems, I end a row, I think I've wrapped the needle in the sock before I put it down, the next time I pick up the sock, there are only the 3 needles holding the stitches, the 4th needle is gone. One day I was knitting in the car and dropped the needle in between rows and I couldn't find it. DH was laughing, as he was driving, as I frantically tried to figure out where it went. I found it two weeks later in the baby's diaper bag. *Sigh*

I sat down this morning and picked up my sock, you guessed it, missing DPN. So, I ask, where do all the DPN's go?

That's it for now. :)

First Off, Hello Friends list and Happy April Fools day. I hope none of you are involved in any embarrassing pranks (unless you are the pranker, then good luck).

Did I miss a memo yesterday about it being Pee-Pee in public day? Maybe it was just pee-pee at the park day. We have a very quaint county park not too far away. My sister and I took the girls there yesterday to get out of the houses. While walking around the zoo there, we got to watch a cow pee (not as much fun as watching two turtles be **ahem "intimate" with each other, which DH and I saw last fall, but it was interesting. Seriously, how many city people can say they have watched a cow pee?)

When we were done with the zoo, we walked across the little road, to the play area. Van Saun park has several play areas for kids, a toddler area, a mid-size area and a big kid area. The big kid playground is under-going renovations, so the other areas are a little more crowded. Anyway, the girls were playing and Liz and I saw a horrified mother go screaming after her little girl who had decided she had to go and squatted down and peed right front of the toddler slide. The mother threw some water down on the spot as her little girl then took off her panties and decide to continue playing. The mother was desperately trying to get the little girl back to the car after that. I felt bad for the woman, she was clearly mortified about the incident, but we all know that accidents happen.

Liz and I decided to leave after this. As we were walking back to the cars, there was another woman dragging her granddaughter over to a grassy area to pee. That one completely bothered me. There are bathrooms all over this park, there was a bathroom maybe 60 yards from where this woman was. I was in one of the bathrooms yesterday, it was very clean. I just don't really get it. :(

Darling daughter and I were out with my sister and niece running errands today.  We picked up thank you cards, and some picture frames for her pictures (Baby’s 1st birthday) which I picked up from Sears this morning (that is another story and a huge rant about why I will never set foot in that particular Sears Portrait studio ever again.).

When we were done with errands, we took the girls to the county park.  There is a little zoo there and we walked around then took them over to the playground, and put them on the swings.  On the drive home, DD fell asleep.  I knew this would happen because it was past time for her morning nap and 1 year old + late nap makes for one cranky little girl.   She falls asleep and now I have a dilemma.  I’m 15 minutes from home, if I go home; there is a 90% chance she will wake up when I am carrying her into the house and then not go back to sleep.  If I decide not to go home, I have to drive around for an hour so I make sure she gets a decent nap.

As I’m debating the options in my head, I start kicking myself for not having my knitting with me.  On the way out the door this morning, I looked over at the bag which contains the socks I’m working on.  I said, “Oh, you aren’t going to have a chance to knit, leave it.” So I did.  Now, in the car I’m thinking, “Hmm. If you had your knitting, you could go stop and get a cup of coffee and sit in the car knitting while she took her nap.  *slaps forehead*

It was then I really wished there were drive-through yarn stores.  Imagine:

“Yes, Hi, I’d like a number 4 please.”

“That is the Zitron Trekking (XXL ) sock yarn, good choice. What color would you like Miss?

            “Variegated blue please.”

“No problem, would you like double pointed needles or a large circular with that”

            “Double pointed please.”

            “What size?”

            “2 please”

“Thank you Miss, would you like a pattern to go with that?”

            “No thank you”

“Please drive up to the next window to pay.”

FYI: I did go home, she did wake up. *sigh*

I’ve been meaning to post this up for the last two week and have just gotten around to it.

A quick update: life here is pretty good, the baby is growing and getting big. She’s crawling like a demon and using any person or thing she sees to stand up. I’m working part-time from home now, which is different. I’m a lot more relaxed, that must say something, I’m not sure what at the moment. ;)

A couple of weeks ago, we took the baby to Ireland to visit her grandparents. My in-laws are very sweet people and it was so nice to see them interact with her. She is the first Grand-Child so there was a lot of spoiling going on.

There are also rumors of a Spring tour, which would make me so happy. *does silly Michael Stipe dance across the office*

For the last two days I’ve been telling myself to get onto LJ and post and I haven’t logged on once. *shrugs*

It’s that crazy holiday time of the year here are some highlights from this week:

+ All my Christmas Cards got mailed out.

+ All the Thank You Cards from my baby shower were mailed out as well.

+ I only have to pick up one more Christmas gift and I’m done.

+ I have 4 more gifts to wrap and I’m done.

- I’ve been exhausted all week and last night fell asleep by 8:30 before even contemplating wrapping the gifts.

+ This one is huge : Hubby FINALLY got his driver’s license on Monday (Huzzah! This has been a long time coming)

- I got a flat tire on my way into the office this morning. The tire blew so I need a new one. There is a donut on the car at the moment, so I’m only able to take it as far as work and back. I’m waiting to hear back from garage that is getting me my new tire. It’ll either be late today or tomorrow. I really hope it comes in today.

+ If the tire comes in, I'll have to leave work early today, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon so I need to leave by 3:30 and Friday we get out at 1pm and do not have to be back in the office until next Wednesday.

+ I’m looking forward to going to see both “Sweeney Todd” and “Walk Hard – the Dewey Cox story” this weekend.

That’s about it. I’m going to have lunch now.

My sister's baby shower is this coming Sunday. Of course, in true fashion, I have several things I need to do this week in preparation, they include:

1) Wrapping her gift
2) Shrink wrapping the basket of odds and ends I put together for her.
3) Painting 5 more terracotta pots for centerpieces (I'm painting the pots to look like honey pots, and then we are placing a Winnie the Pooh doll in each pot, with balloons attached to the pot) 5 Pots are done already
4) Finishing off the stroller blanket i'm knitting. If this is done by then, it will be a miracle, My fingers and wrist are killing me, I do not wish carpal tunnel on anyone. My doctor is confident it is pregnancy related and should get better after I have the baby. Let's keep our fingers crossed. ;)
5) Take my mom out shopping for her last minute items. (Agghhhhh!!!!)

First off HAPPY HALLOWEEN or Blessed Samhain for those of you who are in the know.

I have a confession to make. I’ve found myself with a new guilty pleasure this TV season. I’ve been won over by “Dancing with the Stars.” Actually it is not the show that has won me over, but rather one of the “stars” this season. Which celeb has got me watching and waiting and dare I actually admit to it: voting online each week?

No kids, I’m not having a 90’s 90210 flashback and watching because of Jennie Garth. And No, this former All My Children junkie is not tuning in to see dear Cameron Mathison. It’s another guilty pleasure that has me watching: Marie Osmond. I can’t explain it, but I adore Marie, I have since I was little and I love Donny too and I know that is odd and some of you are thinking I need my head checked. But, there it is and now you know my secret guilty pleasure. (Note: I do not watch the Tuesday results show. That would be insane. It’s on the same time as House and lets face it, Hugh Laurie is 100x hotter and more talented then whole Osmond clan put together.)

Speaking of Tuesday night television, Hubby and I were watching “Bones” last night and I had a “Where have I seen this actress moment?” For the first 45 minutes of the show I was trying to place where I had seen the actress who was playing Angela & Hodgins PI. Then it hit me: she played the POTW on House last week. Doh!

First off, Thank you so much to everyone who commented on my baby post last week. It meant a lot that you guys are there to listen to me. My friends-list is the best. (((Hugs)))

I've been so infrequent with updates lately, that i'm vowing to try and be more regular again. I missed you guys. :)

Just a few random things:

- We got a new boss last week. There really isn't much to say about him this early on. My initial feelings toward him are not warm and fuzzy and several co-workers agree with me. Hopefully this will get better as he gets acclimated to the new position.

- I really need to force myself into nesting mode. The apartment is such a disaster that I'm embarrassed by it.

- I've had an idea for a homemade baby blanket, but it's taking longer then I thought it would. I'm notorious for not finishing knitting projects and was hoping that this particular one would be motivating. I'm actually spinning the yarn myself for it. I've been spinning like a fiend and happy with how much i've been getting done. My problem is I haven't had the ambition to sit and knit this yarn up. I really need to get my ass in gear.

That's about it. I'm so glad today is House-day.

I dropped Tim off at the airport last night. He should be in Ireland. I say he should because I haven’t heard from him yet. His flight was supposed to land at 7am which would have been 2am here in NJ. I knew he wouldn’t call when he landed, I’m thinking he’ll call in a few hours; probably just before or after they have dinner.

I’ve never really thought of myself as a “sappy” wife. When he leaves on business trips, I drop him off, kiss him and tell him to have a good time. I’m happy when he calls, but I don’t mope around, usually. Last night, as I got in the car and drove home I had a hormonal outburst. I started crying on the NJ turnpike. How freaking pathetic am I? I’m talking to the baby going, “Daddy had to go away to visit grandma and grandpa, it’s just you and I. It’s okay though.” Then I realize how pathetic I am and started saying “I’m sorry I’m getting upset, Mommy doesn’t mean to be upset.” Seriously folks, someone tell me the crazy hormones and being over-emotional is a normal part of pregnancy. I was expecting to be emotional, but that was not good.

I calmed down by the time I got home. I put in “The Young Visitors” (Hugh Laurie makes the world a better place) and was able to get some spinning done as well as casted-on and started a blanket that my mom was having issues starting. I dropped that to her this morning.

Tonight I’m going out with Mary. We are suppose to go shopping and for dinner. It’ll be the first time she and I are going out without one or both of her daughters in almost 2 years. We are so looking forward to it.

That’s about it.

XOXOXO

Wednesday Rambles:

- I woke up this morning all congested and tired, nothing new there. I had no ambition to go to work, so I took a personal day. When I called my boss to tell him he was so cool about it. He said “It’s a crappy, rainy day, you’re all caught up with work, you’re pregnant, enjoy a day off. Go take a nap and rest.” Seriously folks, he is a great boss.

It’s funny how any other time, you take a day off and nobody notices, you become pregnant and all of a sudden everyone is watching out for you. It’s a nice feeling. This morning, my Aunt who lives next door sees my car and calls my mother. “Heather’s car is outside, she didn’t go to work, did you talk to her, is everything okay?”

- I got a cool reminder call from borders about picking up my copy of HP Friday night. It was a recording of Jim Dale reminding me I can pick it up at the stroke of midnight. I don’t know why I thought that was cool. Also, every time I hear Jim Dale’s voice I think about “Pete’s Dragon.”

- My cousin Jon called me this morning. His wife had a c-section today, their little boy Julian was born at 7:45am 9lbs 5 oz. I can’t wait to see them, they live in North Carolina so I don’t know when we’ll get a chance.

- Funny conversation between me and my friend Mary yesterday. We are on that phone chatting and she's telling me about potty-training her oldest, then I ask how her 3 month old is. She told me about her discovering she can put her hands in her mouth:

Mary: "Right now she's got 2 fingers and a washcloth in her mouth, she's happy. Wouldn't you be?"

Me: "It depends whose fingers they were."

Mary: *pause* "you're disgusting you do know that."

Me: "Yep. That's why we've been best friends for 19 years."

- I’m off to run to the market, I’m in the mood to make my Mother-in-law’s meatloaf today since I’m home and have the time. I have no chop-meat so I need to pick some up.

- I’ll probably be online this afternoon for a while if anyone is in the mood for a chat.
